MARGINAL MARKINGS


The following marks may appear in the margin of your paper. When such a mark does appear, there is a corresponding error in the line of text on which the mark appears.
c     = inappropriate use of capitals or lower case letters
cs    = comma splice
e     = word ending error (missing "s" or "e", etc.)
fs    = fused sentence (run-on sentence)
h     = homonym (using "to" instead of "too," etc.
mm    = nmisplaced modifier
p     = punctuation (missing, incorrect, or unnecessary
        punctuation marks)
paa   = pronoun/antecedent agreement error
pami  = pronoun antecedent missing or inappropriate
sf    = sentence fragment
si    = split infinitive
sp    = spelling error
sva   = subject/verb agreement
ts    = verb tense shift
typo  = typographical error
vt    = inappropriate verb tense
wc    = inappropriate choice of words
wm    = word missing
x     = other
