My background is diverse and hopefully this diversity adds to
my ability to help students here at USC Sumter. I grew up on a dairy farm
near Pinewood, South Carolina and continue to reside in the area. My wife
Joanie and I, and our three children, live on our own farm where I am trying
to learn to propagate plants. I graduated from Furman High School and went
on to Tulane University, then proceeded to USC Columbia to get my MBA.
I served ten years in the South Carolina General Assembly. I have
taught math and business at Furman High School, Central Carolina Technical
College, USC Sumter and was Program Director for a JTPA program and Job
Developer for another JTPA program.
I am very fortunate to have a great OSP staff. We all work very hard
to help our students achieve their goals. We have an open-door policy (both
ways) at OSP. Suggestions are welcome and we are willing to listen to your
problems. If you have not applied to be a participant in OSP, you must
have a good reason - I would really like to hear it. Come by and visit
us - if you are one of ours, we want to see you very often!
