Verification of enrollment is based upon the total number of credits for which the student is registered
at the time of the certification request.
Verification by Student Request
Verification of enrollment for any student will be provided upon request by that student, using these procedures.
A student may be considered enrolled if that student has registered for courses by having his/her schedule entered
and has paid fees. If the student has pre-registered, but not yet paid fees, a verification can be made based on their
pre-enrollment.
The student enrollment status is determined on the total number of credits for the semester. Students enrolled for less
than 12 credit hours in one semester will not be certified as full-time students under any circumstances.
All verifications can be picked up by the student from the Office of Records and Registration within
a 24-hour period from the time the certification was requested.
Verification Requested by Other Institutions
Enrollment verification forms sent to USC Sumter by other institutions may be completed under all of the above conditions,
but also by the following conditions:
If the form is requesting any information that is not considered directory information, the student's signature must appear on
the form, giving consent for the release of the requested information.
If the form requests subjective information concerning the personal characteristics of the students, the form will be sent to the Deam
of Student Affairs.
Verification in Person by Representative of a Federal Agency
Representatives of Federal agencies may come to the Office of Records and Registration in person to obtain information about
students. Such investigative agents must show the staff member proper identification and the student's signature.
