All students must be in a degree-seeking status at USC Sumter at the
beginning of the semester in which the degree application is submitted.
This means the student has been approved by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
as a regular student. Nondegree status students include military specials,
audit students, degree unclassified students, provisional limited students,
probationary students, and all other catergories of noncontinuing status
students. Check the Academic Calendar for deadline dates
to apply for your degree.

Graduation Application Process
The Associate Degree application must be completed at the beginning of
the semester the student wishes to receive the degree, in the Office of Records
and Registration. The application must be return by the deadline date published
on the Academic Calendar. Once an official evaluation
has been completed at the end of the semester, the diploma will be mailed to the student
approximately six to eight weeks after the end of the semester in which
the student has applied for the degree.
Graduation with honors will be based on the cumulative GPA calculated on
the basis of all work in the student's college career, including any attempted
at other institutions. The calculation will include all courses attempted,
not just those submitted in fulfillment of graduation requirements. Transfer
students who apply to graduate with honors, in addition to their overall
record, must show a GPA at USC that meets the level specified for the honors
being sought. To graduate with honors, a student must have earned at least
60 credit hours applicable toward the degree in residence at the University,
30 credit hours for an associate's degree. Courses taken by a transient
student at other institutions, by correspondence, by examination, or by
exemption are not considered "in residence." The following designations
indicate a consistently high level of academic achievement throughout the
student's entire academic career.
Highest Honors - a cumulative GPA of 4.000
High Honors - a cumulative GPA of 3.750-3.999
Honors - a cumulative GPA of 3.500 - 3.749
