In 1983, the American College Health Association (ACHA), in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control, formulated a Preadmission Immunization Policy in an effort to curtail vaccine-preventable diseases in college students. This policy, based on the most recently available data, requires all incoming students born on or after January 1, 1957, to provide proof on immunity of specific diseases.
All USC Sumter students who plan to take USC Columbia and USC Spartanburg courses and who were born on or after January 1, 1957, must meet the following immunization requirements:
If the shot records are unacceptable, the student may either have a blood titer test performed or submit medical proof of a positive blood titer or have another rubella shot taken.
If the student's physician states, in writing, that the person has had the red measles, this is acceptable.
