Produced by the Chicago Tribune, this database, which is formerly known as Journalism Abstracts, includes abstracts of research-based dissertations and theses that were prepared by student authors and accepted for graduate degrees. Abstracts of creative projects done to complete a graduate degree are excluded. The abstracts appear alphabetically by the author's last name; the dissertations appear first, and the masters theses follow. They are indexed by institution, author, and subject. The subject index is a mixture of key words taken from the abstracts and general terms that are assigned by the editor.
