Work-Study Positions The following federal work-study positions may or may not be available. Please check with the Office of Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Veterans Affairs for availability of positions. JOB CATEGORY | JOB DESCRIPTION
| Financial Aid Office
| Must be able to create, organize, and maintain student financial aid files, light typing/data entry, copying, and accurately filing incoming paperwork and reports. Must keep all information private and confidential. $6.00/hour
| Advisement/Counseling Center | Must have basic knowledge of office procedures, ability to effectively handle periods of high stress, work with minimal supervision, answer the telephone, and serve as the Receptionist for Advisement/Counseling Center. $6.00/hour | Business Office | Must assist with registration, review checks, sell auto permits, collect parking fines, and enter vehicle registration information on the computer. Must provide relief for the switchboard operator. Must have typing and computer skills. $6.00/hour | Admissions Office | Must be responsible for accurately labeling files and making appropriate copies of transcripts and correspondence for files. Must have excellent filing skills, occasionally assist with special projects, and must maintain confidentiality. $6.00/hour
| Student Life
| Must be able to make and post flyers and banners for upcoming events. Must maintain monthly inventory of pool and table game activity supplies. Must monitor and remove outdated materials from bulletin boards on campus. $6.00/hour
| Library | Must be able to work weekends and evening hours. Must have computer skills. Will be required to learn to use multiple databases and online databases used in the library and the computer lab. Assist patrons in locating and using library material. $6.00/hour | Arts & Letters
| Assist with general office work. Assist with setting up stage, reception area and taking attendance at special programs. Assist with hanging exhibits, designing gallery guides/posters. Must have interpersonal skills dealing with artists and patrons. $6.00/hour
| Graduate Studies Office
| Must be able to deal politely and courteously with individuals with a broad range of educational backgrounds and personalities. Will be expected to develop familiarity with basic USC Graduate School application forms, registration practices, and policies/procedures, and will relate this information to potential students. $6.00/hour
| University Advancement
| Must be able to provide clerical support to the Administrative Assistant. Will be required to answer telephone, take messages and assist with the scholarship program. Must provide assistance to the Director of Public Relations and Marketing. Must also change information on the marquee signs on campus. Must clip articles and photos relating to USC Sumter from newspapers and place in scrapbook. $6.00/hour
| Academic Affairs
| Must assist faculty, staff, and students. Assist with general office duties. Must have good typing and computer skills. Must assist with computer reports and forms when necessary. Good oral, written, and communication skills. $6.00/hour
| Opportunity Scholars Program
| Must be able to perform general office work. Must assist students and staff in the computer lab. Must be able to file accurately, answer the telephone, and check mail daily. $6.00/hour
