This is also where camper pick up will be.

This year we will feature four camps held over 2 weeks. If you register for two camps in the same week (morning and afternoon) lunch will be served in between. Snacks included for all camps.

Summer Writing Camp with Mrs. Leah Kiernan

Do you like to tell stories? Do you find your imagination running away from you? Well, Write On! We do too! In our classes, students will have the opportunity to participate in fun, interactive and independent writing exercises that explore the techniques of mystery writing, creative fiction, realistic narrative fiction and non-fiction. Students learn tips for getting started, how to “reel the reader in,” and how to use the five senses to unlock the power of descriptive writing.

Have you ever wondered how Civil War troops marched onto a battlefield? Have you ever wondered how they loaded civil war cannons or what a cannon sounds like when it’s fired? Ever wonder how cavalry troopers fought on horseback? Have you ever met a cavalry horse? Then you will love this week! From Sumter to Appomattox explores the strategies and military tactics of the Civil War through a hands-on, interactive experience. Come learn about infantry, artillery, and cavalry from a leading historian and active re-enactor.

Have you ever wondered why we can’t just jump in the air and fly? Have you ever looked at a tree and wondered how it grows? Ever wondered why we think the way we think?  Mad About Science has the answers! Students will be introduced to human biology, environmental science, psychology, biochemistry and physics in fun and interactive ways. Participants will conduct scientific experiments and explore firsthand the environment in which we live. There will be a number of guest presenters who are USC professors from various disciplines, and this year, as a special guest, we will have the Greenwood Genetic Center Mobile Science Lab!

Have you ever thought about becoming a lawyer? How about a judge? In Mock Trial, participants will explore our court system from the inside, acting as lawyers, judges, witnesses and jurors as they try their own court cases. It’s a great opportunity to have fun while building valuable skills, including public speaking, logic and reasoning and reading and writing. Join us this summer for Mock Trial!
