Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration (SOAR) is a vital part of the collegiate experience at USC Sumter. This program is designed to help you with the transition to college life and is REQUIRED for all new, degree-seeking, students to USC Sumter.

  • Registration for Summer/Fall SOAR's will open on January 15 of each year.

  • There are 100 slots for each SOAR.

  • Registration will be closed the Monday prior to SOAR.

  • Students attending the earlier orientations will have the best course selection; please do not wait until the last minute.

  • A special orientation will take place in August for all students accepted after July 11.




SOAR sessions last a full day. Check-in begins at 8:00 AM in the Nettles Auditorium. The program starts promptly at 8:30AM and will last until 5:00 PM.

Things to Remember:

  • If you have not yet been accepted to USC Sumter, your registration will be cancelled.

  • Plan to be with us for the entire day.

  • Lunch is provided.

  • Dress comfortably.

  • Parking is available next to the Nettles/Schwartz buildings.

  • Bring your SSN (Social Security Number) if you do not know it by memory.
