New Fire Ant Mascot Unveiled
For the first time since the “Fire Ant” was named the University mascot in 2006, an actual mascot has been created to enhance school spirit. The mascot is part of a greater marketing and advertising plan for the University of South Carolina Sumter which also includes the “wrapping” of the two University Prius vehicles with the Fire Ant logo and word mark. In addition to an enhanced presence on television, radio, outdoor, social media and other methods, USC Sumter is increasing all efforts to reach out to new students and current students. The new mascot is just one more way of building a more unified campus and community. The mascot will be named by students and will make appearances at numerous public events beginning this fall.
