Lucile Ward, a native of Sumter, graduated from Sumter High School in 1970. She attended the Sumter School of Practical Nursing, where she received a Certificate in Practical Nursing. She worked a year as a Licensed Practical Nurse and then decided to change careers. She attended Sumter Area Technical College and received an Associate's degree in Secretarial Science in 1975.
Lucile has been employed as a staff member at USC Sumter since May 1980. She provides administrative support to the chairperson and faculty in the division. She is active in her church.
