Medlin Named Head Baseball Coach


Tim Medlin has accepted the position as Head Baseball Coach of the Fire Ants Baseball program.

Before coming to Sumter, Medlin was the head baseball coach at Newberry College and the first manager of the Columbia Blowfish. Medlin was the head coach at Newberry for 17 years and had a win-loss record of 389-458-1, a winning percentage of .459. In 1999, Medlin led Newberry to the South Atlantic Conference tournament championship and a fourth-place finish in the regular-season standings. He led Newberry to two other conference titles prior to it joining the SAC and to two regionals.

He was named Coach of the Year on three occasions and was the manager of the Columbia Blowfish for three full seasons.
