Kathryn Barrett Duke is the Budget, Planning, and Grants Director at USC Sumter. She has been
employed by USC Sumter since 1986, and has previously worked in the Records and Registration Office,
and in the Institutional Research Office. Kathryn earned a B.A. from USC in 1984, with a major in
English and an M.B.A. from USC in 1993.
Kathryn formulates and administers the institution’s budget; analyzes financial activities and
confer with department administrators about budgetary restrictions and annualized expenditure
patterns; performs revenue and cost analysis of joint programs; manages grants administration and
writes grant proposals; and prepares and monitors all strategic planning reporting for the campus.
