Jeff Jones, formerly a Visiting Assistant Professor and current PhD candidate in musicology at Florida State University, obtained the B.M. in music education and the M.M. in music performance from Appalachian State University.
He has performed throughout the United States and internationally with a diverse group of artists and ensembles, ranging from the United States Marine Band, to southern blues musician Thomas "Guitar" Gable, to the Skiffle Bunch Steel Orchestra from the caribbean island of Trinidad. Through his research Jeff explores relationships among music, culture, health, and healing -- and he is committed to finding ways to apply research results toward low cost, non-invasive, non-pharmalogical interventions against disease and illness.
