Jean began her employment with USC Sumter in April 1987 as the Admissions Secretary and Receptionist while completing a secretarial program at Central Carolina Technical College. In the summer of 1992, she joined the Office of Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Veterans Affairs as a Financial Aid Counselor. Her responsibilities include counseling students regarding federal financial aid, awarding the South Carolina Need Based Grant to eligible students, and processing Stafford, PLUS, and miscellaneous loan applications. She is responsible for enforcing Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements. Jean is also responsible for the removal or adjustment of financial aid for students who have requested changes to their financial aid or who are no longer enrolled. She speaks to orientation groups and University 101 classes about financial aid and SAP requirements.
