Native of South Carolina, born in Orangeburg grew up in Lake Marion/Santee area Graduate of Holly Hill (SC) High School (1979). Bachelor Arts Interdisciplinary Studies, USC Sumter (1988) Started working with Intramural program as college work study. Worked as assistant to Intramural director (Rex Waters) in full time temporary capacity while at USC Sumter.
After graduation, hired as Youth and Teen Program Coordinator at Sumter YMCA.
Hired as Recreation Sports Coordinator for USC Sumter 1989, responsible for running Campus Recreation programs which include intramural sports, outdoor recreation, and special events (extramural & intramural).
Adjunct faculty in Physical Education department teaching Backpacking, have also taught weight training and rock climbing.
Married Deanna (DeDe) Barrow in 1988, two children: Kristen Elaine (1989) and Kelsey Ann (1994).
Members of Crosswell Baptist Church both having served as Sunday School teachers in the youth department.
Ordained deacon in 1986.
Enjoys backpacking, canoeing and many more outdoor activities. Enjoy watching most spectator sports, football and adventure racing are favorite sports to watch.
Advisor for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Outdoor Adventure Club at USC Sumter.
