ERIC M. REISENAUER, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
History

Eric M. Reisenauer was born in Spokane, Washington and attended Gonzaga University where he received his B.A. in History and Communications. In 1990, he began his graduate studies in History at Loyola University Chicago. He earned his Masters Degree in 1992 and completed his Ph.D. in 1997. In the Fall of that year he accepted a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of History at USC Sumter. Reisenauer teaches a wide range of history courses from the general survey courses (101 and 102) to more specialized ones covering British history, Modern European history, and the history of East Asia. His research interests include issues concerning the British Empire, nationalism and national identity, nineteenth-century racial theory, and Victorian religious ideas. He is involved in several organizations both on campus and in the Sumter community.
