A native of Sumter, Hunter Boyle began his theatrical career at the Sumter Little Theatre where he was named Best Actor in 1983.
Boyle earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Acting from the University of South Carolina in 1991. As part of his theatrical training, he performed at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D. C.
Boyle co-founded the South Carolina Shakespeare Company based in Columbia, South Carolina with several graduates of the University of South Carolina’s MFA program. Exceptionally active in the Midlands theatre community, Boyle has been in countless shows at various theatres in Columbia, South Carolina, including: Workshop Theatre, Trustus Theatre, Theatre South Carolina, and South Carolina Shakespeare Company.
Boyle recently portrayed Truman Capote in the one man show TRU at Workshop Theatre in Columbia and most recently performed at the 2007 Piccolo Spoleto Festival in a production of THE FULL MONTY.
Boyle is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity Association (the union for professional stage actors in the United States) and currently resides in Columbia.
