Beth McLeod was born in Cambridge England while her father was serving in the United States Air Force. She graduated from Sumter Area TEC with a degree in Envirnomental Engineering. She came to USC Sumter in January 1996, after many years experience with local industry. She worked in Quallity Assurance laboratories at Campbell Soup, Becton Dickinson, Aircap and Baxter Healthcare.
Beth serves as lab manager for Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Anatomy/Physiology and Microbiology labs. Her duties include preparation of laboratory materials, lab demonstrations, coordination of lab activities, inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment, implementation of proper health and safety measures, and supervision of work study student assistants.
