The USC Sumter Associates is an organization of community leaders that offers members an
opportunity to be involved in the activities and advancement of the University of South Carolina
Sumter. Its founders, recognizing the important cultural, social and economic impact of the
University, seek to provide an opportunity for those who are not otherwise associated with USC
Sumter to learn first-hand about developments on the Sumter campus.
The organization exists to provide an effective means of communication between community
leaders and local University officials, to undertake actions that will further the mission of
the campus and the University, and to address matters of mutual concern to USC Sumter and the
greater Sumter community.
Meetings
The USC Sumter Associates holds regular luncheon meeting throughout the year. These meetings are an
opportunity to hear speakers from the throughout the University. An annual reception is held in
December for members and guests together with University officials.
Support Activities
USC Sumter Associates demonstrate their interest in the activities of the University and its impact
on the community through a variety of support activities, such as public statements from the
organization concerning matters of importance to the membership and to the University.
