Anthony joined USC Sumter in 1997. He previously directed the Humanities
Program at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. He has taught philosophy
at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, at Elon College, at the
University of Alabama at Birmingham, and at the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill. Anthony has very wide ranging interests and in fact completed
a mathematics major before his interests shifted into philosophy.
Anthony loves teaching. He has taught nearly every area of philosophy.
Years of teaching inductive logic led to the publication of a book Introduction
to Inductive Reasoning. He has presented numerous papers in philosophy of religion
and in academic ethics. He maintains his contact with mathematics by reviewing the
latest publications in mathematical logic.
Personal interests include music (which he shares with his wife who is an organist
and music teacher) and bicycling. You will see him riding around town on a red road
bike. Please pass him carefully. He is interested in making contact with others
interested in early music. He is an accomplished recorder player (sopranino through
bass) and would enjoy playing with others on an occasional basis.
